1930s/1940s Small Quilted Throw or Wall Hanging
era: c. 1930s/1940s
very pretty and artistic arrangement of 12 8-point stars on a white and pink grid. each star with a slightly different arrangement of feedsack fabrics, but each containing a red point. each secured with a contrasting black slip-stitch and the whole quilt finished with hand-stitched diagonal lines. thin and lightweight (no batting)
43 1/2" x 30 1/2"
good condition overall. edge of pink border is frayed/worn all the way around. some scattered faint tea-like stains ( just a few noted on front, some more on the back) but overall intact, sturdy, and beautiful. would make a great wall-hanging or decorative element in any room.
