Victorian Alligator Hide Doctor's Bag

late 1800s

classic doctor's bag case with alligator/crocodile hide outer and handle, and leather interior. wonderful chunky silver hardware with sliding clasp/lock system and hinged mouth. great display or collector's piece.

stamped on the clasp " PATENTED SEPT. 18 1877" stamped on the base leather "1147"

13" long, 6" wide, 9" tall including handle

good/very good condition. lots of character and great presence. some age and patina as seen, and as expected for age. leather seems in stable condition, and interior is in very clean intact condition. hinged mouth and clasp work great. faint must/storage smell to interior.
